We want to share our AGI SureTrack family with you; we want you to get to know us. We are more than just the people behind the technology. Each of us work every day to help farmers bring increased value and profits back to the farms. Enjoy this month's spotlight, Clay McCullough.
Employee: Clay McCullough
Department: Engineering
Q: How long have you been with AGI SureTrack
A: I have been with AGI SureTrack since March of 2018.
Q: What is your role at AGI SureTrack?
A: I am a Software Engineer here at AGI SureTrack. While I work in all parts of SureTrack FARM™ and SureTrack PRO™, I focus primarily on FieldDataManager and SureTrack PRO.
Q: What’s the best thing about your job?
A: Although so many different aspects of my job come to mind when asked this question, especially the awesome team that I get to work with every day, I will narrow it down. The best thing about my job is the impact it has on agriculture. Driving increased revenue to the farm, as well as increasing the productivity and effectiveness of all farmers, are what I love most about my position.
Q: What’s been one of your proudest moments at AGI SureTrack?
A: Completing and releasing the new and improved FieldDataManager with Energy Curves has been my proudest moment here at AGI SureTrack. Really, any major project I have been a part of and seen to completion is my proudest moment, and FieldDataManager Energy Curves has been the biggest and best thus far.
Q: Did you grow up on a farm?
A: Unfortunately, I did not. However, my mother’s family came down from Canada to farm in Northern Missouri. Additionally, my Granddad owned a 200-acre farm that I visited several times as a kid.
Q: When you’re not in the AGI SureTrack office, where is your favorite place to be?
A: Have to say this is an easy one. I love to be at home, preferably working on some cool new technology that I can apply to my job here at AGI SureTrack.
Q: Do you have pets?
A: I don’t currently have any pets, although I am strongly considering getting a dog!
Q: What’s your favorite line from a movie?
A: “Brothers, what we do in life... echoes in eternity.” - Maximus, Gladiator (2000).
Q: If you could choose anyone as your mentor, who would it be?
A: As a Christian, I would choose my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as my personal mentor.
Q: If you won the lottery, what is the first thing you would do?
A: I would give a tremendous tithe to my church and food shelters here in Kansas City.
Q: If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
A: I would want the superpower of being able to fly (like Superman).
Q: If you were stuck on an island what three things would you bring?
A: My Bible, a compound bow and a week’s worth of bread.
Q: What advice would you give to recent new hires?
A: No matter how difficult a problem you face, never, ever give up. Consider all aspects of the problem, turn it upside down and you are bound to find a solution.
Q: Where is your favorite place to eat?
A: Joe’s Kansas City Bar-B-Que is definitely my favorite place to eat. Although Strip's Chicken is a very close second!
